Will the procedure be painful?
Not at all! The procedure and the post-operative period is absolutely painless which makes this procedure much better tolerated than the often very painful and uncomfortable surgical alternative. There may occasionally be a little bleeding after the procedure but this is painless and usually minimal.
How long will the procedure take?
The procedure usually takes about one hour, depending on the patient’s anatomy which can vary a little from patient to patient.
How long will I be in hospital?
This often depends on your initial symptoms and bleeding however most patients can go home the same day of the procedure (as soon as the sedation medication has worn off) or the following morning if you still feel a little drowsy.
When can I go back to work?
Patient’s can usually go to work as soon as they are feeling strong enough. Because the procedure is painless most often patient’s can go to work the next day however a little longer may be needed if the bleeding prior to the procedure was excessive.
